Comets Release Forward Matt Leitner

Utica, NY - Utica Comets General Manager Ryan Johnson announced that the club released forward Matt Leitner from his professional tryout contract.

Leitner, 27, dressed in five games with the Comets this season registering one goal, four penalty minutes and a plus-three rating. The forward has skated in 48 ECHL games with Manchester Monarchs this season tallying 37 points (9-28-37) and 18 penalty minutes. The Los Alamitos, California native has appeared in 38 career AHL games amassing nine points (1-9-10) and 14 penalty minutes.

The forward is skating in his third professional season out of Minnesota State University (Mankato).
