SAN ANTONIO (October 3, 2013) - San Antonio Rampage General Manager Mike Santos announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has released goaltender Rob Madore from his tryout contract.
Madore, 25, enters his second professional season after splitting time last year with the Evansville Icemen (ECHL), the Florida Everblades (ECHL) and the Charlotte Checkers (AHL). The 5-foot-10, 176-pound netminder appeared in nine games for Charlotte last season, posting a 5-3-0 record and a 1.83 goals-against average and 0.951 save percentage. Prior to turning pro, Madore played four years (2008-12) at the University of Vermont and finished his career ranked second all-time in saves (3,352) for the Catamounts, behind only current Florida Panthers netminder Tim Thomas.
