MILWAUKEE, WI (Dec. 12, 2016) - The San Antonio Rampage (11-13-1-0) fell short during their third-period rally against the Milwaukee Admirals (15-5-2-1) in a 5-4 loss Monday evening at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.

Rocco Grimaldi collected two-points on the night, including a game-tying goal late in the third earning him the Second Star of the Game. Joe Whitney and Shawn St. Amant also collected two-point games, with St. Amant logging his first-ever AHL goal.

Milwaukee opened the scoring early in the first when Trevor Smith netted a power-play goal with assists from Harry Zolnierczyk and Pontus Aberg 2:11 into the game. The Admirals would extend their lead to two when Vladislav Kamenev received a favorable deflection off of a shot that hit the crossbar at the 7:34 mark. Cody Corbett helped San Antonio get on the board before the end of the stanza, netting his first goal of the season on a pass from Alex Belzile at 15:28.

Milwaukee scored the lone goal of the second period when Aberg recorded his second point of the night. Aberg finished the puck at the 13:23 mark as Matt White and Kamenev registered assists on the play.

Down 3-1, the Admirals attempted to put the game out of reach netting their fourth goal from Jonathan Diably with assists from Alexandre Carrier and Cody Bass. The Rampage surged midway through the third period, logging three consecutive goals to tie the game at four. The first came from Whitney who lit the lamp off of a power-play pass from Grimaldi and Mike Sislo at the 7:17 mark. St. Amant would answer with an unassisted goal less than two minutes later, finding the back of the net 8:50 into the frame. During San Antonio's seventh power-play of the night, Grimaldi netted the game-tying goal with an assist from Whitney. With just a minute and a half left to play, San Antonio pulled goaltender Kent Simpson in favor of the additional attacker. Despite collecting an eighth and final opportunity with the man-advantage, San Antonio was unable to find the back of the net to send the game into extra minutes.
