Teddy Bear Toss Set for Saturday

CHARLOTTE, NC - The Checkers' annual Teddy Bear Toss, presented by Novant Health, will take place Saturday, Dec. 17, during the 6 p.m. game against the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Fans are encouraged to bring new stuffed animals wrapped in plastic to throw on the ice following the Checkers' first goal. Continuing an annual tradition, Checkers players and staff members will personally deliver the collected animals to Novant Health Hemby Children's Hospital on Jan. 24.
In the past six seasons, the Checkers have collected and donated more than 11,000 stuffed animals.
Please be aware that, for safety reasons, bears with breakable battery compartments should not be thrown.
