Omaha, Neb. - Bryan Helmer's two power-play goals couldn't get the San Antonio Rampage their first road victory of the season after dropping a 4-3 decision Saturday night against West Division rival, the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights.

Omaha (5-0-1-0) jumped to a 2-0 lead in the opening period. The Knights' Brandon Prust scored just 56 seconds into the game for his first marker of the season and set the tone.

Both teams would trade a pair of goals in the second period.

Carsen Germyn scored his second goal of the season just 1:17 into the period to give Omaha a 3-0 cushion. Helmer, the Rampage's captain, erased Knights netminder Curtis McElhinney's shutout chances away when he and last year's AHL MVP Donald MacLean connected at 6:49 into the second frame.

Omaha would regain a three-goal lead at the 13:17 mark before Pascal Rheaume netted his first goal of the season nearly two-minutes later for the Rampage's second of three power-play goals of the evening.

San Antonio narrowed the gap within one when Rampage captain, Helmer, notched his third power-play goal of the season with 21 seconds remaining in regulation, unable to force an extra session.

The Rampage (2-6-0-0) travel to Des Moines, Iowa for a Sunday matinee game at 5 p.m. against the Iowa Stars.
