Hershey Bears News Release

The BEARS will officially turn the page on the 2005-06 season tonight with the raising of the team's ninth Calder Cup banner at GIANT Center. After a 4-0-0-0 road trip, HERSHEY will play the Bridgeport Sound Tigers tonight along HERSHEYPARK Drive with a nod to last year's championship team.

Pre-game ceremonies will include the presentation of Calder Cup championship rings, a video tribute to last season's champions, and the introduction of the 2006-07 squad. The team's ninth Calder Cup championship banner will be unveiled just prior to the start of the game at 7:00 p.m.

HERSHEY is off to its best start since 1982 after winning four straight road games to start the year. It marks the first time since 1957 that the BEARS have won four straight road contests to start a new season. Goaltender Frederic Cassivi already has three wins ini 2006-07, and will start tonight for the defending champs.

Tonight's game can be heard via the BEARS Radio Network (100.1 FM, 1490 AM and 960 AM) beginning with the pregame show at 6:40 p.m. The game can also be heard via PennLive.com and seen through B2 Networks. The B2 Networks video link can be seen through HersheyBears.com. John Walton has the call of the action.
