
Rampage Fall to Rockford in Overtime 3-2

ROCKFORD, IL - The San Antonio Rampage (9-3-6-0) fell to the Rockford IceHogs (11-4-1-2) 3-2 in overtime in front of 3,606 at the BMO Harris Bank Center on Wednesday night. Troy Bourke and Michael Schumacher scored goals for the Rampage, who were outshot 37-28 on the night.
The Rampage got a late first-period goal from Bourke to open the game's scoring. Bourke redirected a Patrick Bordeleau shot past Rockford goaltender Michael Leighton for his second of the year.
Rockford came on strong in the second period, outshooting the Rampage 17-5 and scoring two goals to take a 2-1 lead into the second intermission. The IceHogs' first goal came from Jeremy Morin on the power play, and Dennis Rasmussen scored with less than 30 seconds left in the frame.
Schumacher tallied his fourth of the season with just under five minutes left in regulation to force a league-leading ninth overtime game for the Silver and Black.
With a power play in the extra frame, Erik Gustafsson potted the game winner, giving Rockford the 3-2 win.
Calvin Pickard, making his second start since being reassigned to the Rampage on Sunday, finished with 34 saves on 37 shots.
Key Stat
The Rampage have played a league-leading nine overtime games this season. Of the nine games that needed extra time to determine a winner, eight have been decided in overtime and one has gone to a shootout. San Antonio is 2-6 in overtime and has one shootout win.
Lineup Notes
With Reid Petryk out of the lineup, Schumacher moved up to the second line to play with Colin Smith and Borna Rendulic. Garrett Meurs, who was recalled from the Fort Wayne Komets Wednesday morning, played on the fourth line with Sam Henley and Hubert Labrie.
