
Panthers Recall Brickley, Shaw from Pirates; Wilson, Grimaldi Reassigned to Portland

Portland, ME - Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon announced today the recall of forwards Connor Brickley and Logan Shaw from the Portland Pirates. The Panthers also announced that forwards Garrett Wilson and Rocco Grimaldi have been reassigned to the Pirates.
Brickley, a 6-foot-1, 195 pound left wing from Everett, Massachusetts, played six games with the Pirates since being assigned to Portland on November 9. He scored one goal and added two assists for three points. Before arriving in Portland, the 23 year-old second-year pro played 10 games with Florida, the first games of his NHL career. He scored a goal and two assists for three points.
Brickley was chosen by Florida in the Second Round (50th Overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Shaw, a 6-foot-3, 204 pound right wing from Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, has played 13 games with Portland this season, scoring seven goals and adding an assist for eight points. The 23-year-old third year pro has scored a goal in his last two games and registered a point in each of his last three games.
A Panthers Third Round (76th Overall) choice in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Shaw made his NHL debut for Florida on October 30 against the Boston Bruins before he was reassigned back to Portland.
Both Brickley and Shaw will join the Panthers ahead of their home game this Friday against the New York Islanders.
Wilson, a 6-foot-2, 199 pound left wing from Barrie, Ontario, rejoins the Pirates for the second time this season. An alternate captain, Wilson has played seven games with the Pirates this season, notching four assists and four points.
Since being recalled by the Panthers on November 2, Wilson has played six games with Florida. A fourth-year pro, the 24 year-old Wilson was selected in the Fourth Round (107th Overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Grimaldi, a 5-foot-6, 160 pound center from Rossmoor, California, played five games with Portland earlier this season, picking up three assists and three points. He was called up by Florida on October 31, and has played in 10 games with the Panthers this season, scoring one goal and one point.
A 25 year-old second-year pro, Grimaldi was selected by Florida in the Second Round (33rd Overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Both Wilson and Grimaldi will join the Pirates in time for their game against the Utica Comets this Friday night at Cross Insurance Arena.
The Pirates return home to the Cross Insurance Arena for two games on Black Friday Weekend against the Utica Comets on Friday, November 27 and Saturday, November 28 at 7:00 p.m. On Friday night, the Pirates are hosting a new sock drive!
