Minnesota Wild Recalls Christoph Bertschy from Iowa

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Christoph Bertschy (pronounced Burr-chee) from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) under emergency conditions.

  Bertschy, 21 (4/5/94), made his NHL debut on Nov. 7 in the Wild's 1-0 win against Tampa Bay and has played in two contests with Minnesota this season. The native of Fribourg, Switzerland, has collected nine points (2-7=9) including a power-play and shorthanded goal and 14 penalty minutes (PIM) in 19 games with Iowa this season. The rookie ranks second on the team in scoring. Bertschy collected 30 points (14-16=30), a plus-14 rating and 26 PIM in 44 games with SC Bern in the Swiss League in 2014-15. The 5-foot-10, 189-pound forward was selected by Minnesota in the sixth round (158th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and wears sweater No. 47 with Minnesota.
