
Rampage Fall 5-2 in Manitoba Thursday

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Canada - (November 20, 2008) - The San Antonio Rampage fell 5-2 to the Manitoba Moose at the MTS Centre on Thursday night. Moose forward Mark Cullen had a hat trick to pace Manitoba.
The Rampage wasted no time as forward Brett MacLean potted his team leading fifth goal of the season just 48 seconds into the game by banging in a loose puck in the crease for a 1-0 lead. The Moose came back on a power play as Cullen snapped home a shot from the left circle off the near post and in to tie the game at 5:21. Manitoba then took the lead as defenseman Daniel Rahimi sent a long pass ahead up the left wing to forward Jason Jaffray who gathered it in then streaked in and scored on a wrist shot at 10:08 making it 2-1. The Moose tacked on late in the frame as Cullen scored his second power play goal of the night on a wrister top shelf high glove side with just 25.1 seconds left for a 3-1 advantage.
Manitoba got the only goal of the second period when forward Jason Krog snapped a centering pass from the right wing wall that deflected of a Rampage defenseman in front at 8:44.
In the third period the Rampage had several chances to get back in the game, but forward Enver Lisin was stopped twice on shots that hit the post during power plays. Late in regulation San Antonio cracked thru as forward Derek Nesbitt scored for the second straight game, this time on a wild goal mouth scramble at 18:31. The Moose sealed the win and Cullen finished the hat trick with an empty net goal with just 28.1 seconds left to complete the scoring. FINAL SCORE Manitoba 5, San Antonio 2.
Al Montoya stopped 19 of 23 shots in 59:42 and took the loss to fall 1-8-0. Cory Schneider stopped 22 of 24 shots in 60 minutes and improved to 10-1-0. The Rampage went 1-6 on the power play while Manitoba was 2-4. The shots were even at 24 apiece.
The Rampage extended their franchise record winless streak to 11 games (0-10-0-1) and dropped to 2-14-0-1 overall.
