Providence Bruins News Release
Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, in their 17th season in the American Hockey League, announced that defenseman Matt Lashoff has been recalled by the National Hockey League's Boston Bruins. With the move, the P-Bruins have 22 players on their roster, including 13 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders.
Lashoff, 22, is in his fourth professional season, all spent in the Boston organization. The blue-liner began this season in Providence, registering 13 points (3g, 10a) and 21 penalty minutes in 15 games. Lashoff enjoyed a five-game point-streak from October 12 to October 24, followed by his best game of the season November 14 against the Worcester Sharks in which he scored a goal and added three assists for a four-point game and a plus-four rating.
A native of East Greenbush, New York, Lashoff split 2007-08 between Boston and Providence, earning five points (g, 4a) in 18 games with the big club while matching a career-high with 36 points (9g, 27a) for the P-Bruins. In his career, the two-time PlanetUSA AHL All-Star starter has 87 points (24g, 63a) in 146 contests at the AHL level to go along with seven points (g, 6a) in 30 games for Boston.
Prior to being drafted by Boston 22nd overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Lashoff spent three years in the Ontario Hockey League with the Kitchener Rangers.
Providence Bruins season tickets, Flex Tix packages and single game tickets are on sale now for the 2008-09 season. To purchase tickets or to learn more information, call the P-Bruins ticket office at (401) 273-5000 or log on to the team website at providencebruins.com.
