Adirondack Phantoms News Release
PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Phantoms have signed defenseman Dominic D'Amour and right wing Tyler Donati to professional tryout contracts, according to general manager Paul Holmgren. In addition, center Jonathon Kalinski was recalled by the Flyers today, putting him in position to become the fifth Phantom to make his NHL debut this season when the Flyers visit the Buffalo Sabres on Friday night.
D'Amour, 24, previously played for ECHL Dayton, where he posted seven points in 12 games this season to go along with a +1 rating. He was a third-round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, and had played 98 career AHL games for the St. John's Maple Leafs and Toronto Marlies.
Donati, 22, comes to the Phantoms from ECHL Elmira, where he posted six goals and 13 assists for 19 points in 12 games. At the time of his departure, he led the Jackals and was tied for second in the ECHL in scoring. Donati appeared in 53 games for the Binghamton Senators a year ago.
Both Donati and D'Amour arrived in Philadelphia in time to play in yesterday's School Day Game, a 5-0 win over the Albany River Rats.
Kalinski was recalled today and is available for the Flyers game at Buffalo on Friday night. If he plays, he will become the fifth member of the Phantoms to make his NHL debut this season. Already this year, the Phantoms have seen Jared Ross, Darroll Powe, Andreas Nodl and Nate Raduns make their NHL debuts, while Boyd Kane and Josh Gratton have also appeared for the Flyers. Gratton, Powe and Nodl are all still with the Flyers.
The Phantoms are back in action on Friday when the Hershey Bears return to the Wachovia Spectrum for the third time this month. The puck will drop at 7:05 and all fans are encouraged to bring a box of Mac & Cheese to use as a noisemaker for "Shake Your Mac Night". After the game, fans can donate their boxes and any other non-perishable food items that will be given to local food banks. Tickets for that game, as well as all 2008-09 regular season games, are available by calling 1-800-298-4200 or visiting phantomshockey.com.
The best way for fans to secure a ticket for the final regular season game at the Wachovia Spectrum on April 12, 2009 is to purchase either a game plan package or season tickets. Packages are available now in convenient blocks of 6, 10, 16 and 20 games, as well as pro-rated full season tickets for all remaining home games. All packages receive an impressive list of exclusive benefits, discount prices and the same seat for each game, beginning at just $60!
