DES MOINES, IA (Nov. 3, 2017) - Dominic Toninato's third-period goal lifted the San Antonio Rampage (7-2-1-0) to a 4-2 victory over the Iowa Wild (3-6-2-0) on Friday at Wells Fargo Arena. Reid Petryk extended his point streak to a season-high six games after registering an assist in the second period.
Felix Girard opened the scoring for the Silver and Black 4:35 into the opening frame when he collected a rebound in front of the net and sent it past Iowa netminder Niklas Svedberg, giving the Rampage a 1-0 advantage. Julien Nantel extended San Antonio's lead at the 15:32 mark, finding a loose puck in the slot and sending it into the back of the net for his first of the season.
Alex Grant cut the lead to one 3:52 into the second stanza when he finished a backdoor pass from Justin Kloos to get Iowa on the board. Toninato gave the Rampage a two-goal lead when he redirected a pass from Alex Belzile into the net at the six-minute mark. The remainder of the frame went scoreless as the Rampage took a 3-1 lead heading into the second intermission.
Sam Anas recorded his first goal of the season when he hit a wrist shot past Rampage goalie Ville Husso 13:53 into the final period, pulling the Wild within one. Trent Vogelhuber secured the game for the Rampage when he landed an empty-net goal in the final three seconds, giving the Rampage a 4-2 victory.
