The Hartford Wolf Pack outshot the Providence Bruins

Hartford, CT, November 4, 2017 - The Hartford Wolf Pack outshot the Providence Bruins 33-29 Saturday night at the XL Center, but could not beat Bruin goaltender Jordan Binnington in a 5-0 loss.

Jacob Forsbacka Karlsson, Kenny Agostino and Colton Hargrove all had a goal and an assist apiece for Providence, and Zach Senyshyn and Josh Hennessy also scored. Chris Nell started in goal for the Wolf Pack and took the loss, with four goals-against on 20 shots, and Alexandar Georgiev allowed one goal on nine shots in relief.

The Wolf Pack started out strongly, not letting the Bruins get a shot on net for the first six minutes and outshooting them 5-0 in those six minutes. Unfortunately for Hartford, the first shot Providence took found its way to the back of the net. Senyshyn, assisted by Hargrove, put the visitors up 1-0 with goal off the rush from the right side at 5:13.

"We thought we had some chances," Wolf Pack head coach Keith McCambridge said. "The first goal is very important [and] I thought they did a better job."

Only 2:10 after Senyshyn's goal, at 7:23, Forsbacka Karlsson scored on the power play after Dan DeSalvo went to the box for slashing.

Nell made a big save at 3:45 of the second period, when Jesse Gabrielle had a point-blank opportunity, and Nell stopped another close-in shot, by Colby Cave, at 4:12. The Bruins kept coming, though, and increased their lead to 3-0 on a power play at 5:54. Hennessy got the goal on a rebound, after Nell denied Sena Acolatse's shot.

Agostino ended Nell's night with his third goal of the season at 11:10, set up at the left side of the slot on a 2-on-1 break with Forsbacka Karlsson. Hargrove then completed the scoring with an unassisted goal against Georgiev at 16:19, as Hargrove came around from behind the net to Georgiev's left and put the puck in off of defenseman Ryan Graves' stick.

The Wolf Pack controlled much of the play in the third period, outshooting the Bruins 12-6, but could not get anything past Binnington.

The Wolf Pack are right back at the XL Center Sunday, facing off against the Springfield Thunderbirds at 5:00 PM.
