
Rampage Defenseman Dylan Olsen Recalled to the Florida Panthers

SAN ANTONIO (November 24, 2013) - San Antonio Rampage General Manager Mike Santos announced today that the Florida Panthers (NHL) have recalled defenseman Dylan Olsen from the Rampage. In conjunction, the Rampage have recalled defenseman Josh McFadden from the team's ECHL affiliate, the Cincinnati Cyclones.
Olsen, 22, has played in three games for the Rampage since being acquired via trade with the Chicago Blackhawks on Nov. 14. Olsen recorded his first goal of the season for the Silver and Black in Friday's 4-3 shootout win over Texas. The former first-round pick (28th overall) of the Blackhawks in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft has tallied one assist in 28 career NHL games, all with Chicago. Olsen played in 133 AHL games with Rockford (2010-13) before being acquired by the Panthers organization, recording six goals and 24 assists. Prior to turning pro, Olsen played two years at the University of Minnesota-Duluth and tallied two goals and 22 assists in 53 games.
McFadden, 22, has suited up in seven games for Cincinnati this season and has recorded a goal and an assist. The blueliner played in nine games with the Rampage last season during his rookie campaign, but was held off the scoresheet. McFadden spent the majority of his rookie year with Cincinnati, recording two goals and 12 assists in 28 games. Prior to turning pro, McFadden played four seasons in the OHL totaling 222 games and 150 points (39 goals, 111 assists). During the 2010-11 season, McFadden led the Sudbury Wolves in scoring and was third in the league among defenseman with 19 goals and 53 assists in 67 games.
The Rampage look to make it six wins in a row at AT&T Center today (Sunday) at 4 p.m. against the Toronto Marlies on an Express-News Sunday Funday.
