Rampage Announce Captains for 2014-15 Season

SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 9, 2014) - San Antonio Rampage coach Tom Rowe announced the team has chosen defenseman Greg Zanon as captain for the 2014-15 season. Forward Bobby Butler will be an alternate captain and forward Garrett Wilson and defenseman Alex Petrovic will split duties for the second alternate.

Zanon, 34, skated in 24 games for the Rampage last season, returning to the lineup on Feb. 21 after sustaining an injury on opening weekend. One of the Rampage's most experienced players, Zanon has played in 493 NHL games with the Nashville Predators, Minnesota Wild, Boston Bruins and Colorado Avalanche.

Butler, 27, was San Antonio's leader in goals (22) last season, and registered 47 points in 69 games. He has played in 130 NHL games with the Ottawa Senators, New Jersey Devils, Nashville Predators and Florida Panthers.

Petrovic, 22, is entering his third full season as a pro, all of which have been played in Florida's organization. He recorded two goals and 11 assists last season for the Rampage and skated in seven games with the Panthers.

Wilson, 23, is coming off a breakout season in which he tallied 14 goals and 16 assists for San Antonio. He made his NHL debut on Mar. 17 and skated in three games with Florida.

The San Antonio Rampage open the 2014-15 season on Friday against the Iowa Wild. Puck drop is slated for 7:30 p.m., and it will be a MIX Dollar Drink Night at the AT&T Center.
