
Ryan Jones Signs PTO with Comets

Utica Comets Director of Hockey Operations Pat Conacher has announced that the club has signed forward Ryan Jones to a professional tryout contract (PTO). He brings with him 334 games of NHL experience to the Comets roster which will begin the regular season on Saturday.
Jones, 30, appeared in 52 games last season with the Edmonton Oilers and accounted for six points (two goals, four assists) and 40 penalty minutes. He also skated in four games with the AHL's Oklahoma City Barons and scored two goals.
Entering his seventh professional season, Jones has registered 100 points (54 goals, 46 assists) and 181 penalty minutes in the National Hockey League between the Edmonton Oilers and the Nashville Predators. He set a career high with 18 goals in 2010-11 with Edmonton. The Chatham, ON native has played in the American Hockey league for parts of three different seasons and has totaled 29 points (19 goals, 10 assists) in 48 games with Houston, Milwaukee and Oklahoma City.
Originally selected in the fourth round (#111 overall) by the Minnesota Wild in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Jones played his college hockey at the University of Miami (Ohio).
