Falcons Release Forward Josh Brittain from Professional Tryout

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons have released forward Josh Brittain from his professional tryout contract, Director of Hockey Operations Bruce Landon announced today.

Brittain, 24, appeared in three preseason contests with the Falcons since signing his PTO. The 6-foot-5, 224-pound forward spent the 2013-14 season with the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League and the Reading Royals of the ECHL. Brittain skated in 20 games with the Bears, earning 4 points (3g, 1a), and 36 with the Royals, accumulating 26 points (14g, 12a). The Milton, Ontario native has appeared in a career total of 114 AHL and 114 ECHL regular season contests, amassing 30 points (16g, 14a) and 69 points (35g, 34a), respectively. Brittain also spent six seasons in the OHL gathering 152 points (80g, 72a) in 258 games.

The Springfield Falcons kick-off the 2014-15 season with a visit to the Syracuse Crunch Oct. 11 and Oct. 17 before returning to the MassMutual Center for the home opener against the Hershey Bears on Oct. 18.
