Tacoma Rainiers News Release

Tacoma, WA - The Tacoma Rainiers used some late-inning heroics to slip away with an 11-10 win over Fresno at Cheney Stadium on Saturday.

Infielder Jack Hannahan broke up a 10-10 tie after grounding into a fielder's choice that drove in outfielder Mike Wilson from third and clinched the Rainiers first win over the Grizzlies this season.

Tacoma erased what had been a one-run Fresno lead entering the inning following outfielder Ezequiel Carrera's single to right field that scored catcher Guillermo Quiroz from third base.

Catcher Adam Moore put on a show at the plate for Rainiers as well, going 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI in a rehab appearance with Tacoma. First baseman Brett Pill led the Grizzlies offense and went 5-for-5 with a three-run home run.

Rainiers reliever Levale Speigner notched his third win of the season after allowing one hit over a scoreless inning of work in the ninth with a pair of strikeouts.

The loss went to Fresno reliever Waldis Joaquin after the left-hander gave up two runs on one hit with a walk and a strikeout over an inning of work in the eighth and ninth.

Starter Andy Baldwin came away with a no decision following an interesting night on the mound. The right-hander saw nine runs score, all unearned, on 11 hits with one walk and one strikeout.

The Rainiers look to split the series as they finish out their four-game set with the Grizzlies on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Left-hander Ryan Feierabend will head to the mound for Tacoma, while right-hander Eric Hacker will go to the bump for Fresno.
