
Rainiers Topple the \'Topes, 13-9

Albuquerque, NM - The Tacoma Rainiers piled on some late-inning offense to best the Albuquerque Isotopes 13-9 at Isotopes Park on Friday night.
Tacoma, trailing the Isotopes 7-5, took the lead for good following a three-run effort in the top of the fifth inning. After Greg Halman's bases-loaded ground out scored Alex Liddi to bring the Rainiers within a run, Mike Wilson put Tacoma on top with a two-run home run with two outs.
A five-run inning broke the game open for the Rainiers in the eighth, beginning with an RBI-single hit by Liddi with two outs in the inning. Designated hitter Wily Mo Pena drove in two more runs with a double one batter later and outfielder Carlos Peguero capped off the frame with a two-run home run.
Seven of Tacoma's 13 runs were scored off four homers hit against Albuquerque on Friday, with Matt Tuiasosopo and catcher Jose Yepez also going deep for Tacoma. Pena, Peguero and Yepez led the Rainiers lineup after each turned in two hits and two RBI.
The third baseman Liddi scored three runs in the outing to up his total 103 this season. He is now just four shy of tying Tacoma's single-season record of 107 set by Hosken Powell in 1977.
Rainiers right-hander Jarrett Grube (2-3) tossed two shutout innings over the six and seventh to collect the win for Tacoma, allowing just one hit with one strikeout. Starter Luke French gave up seven runs on six hits over four innings of action.
Albuquerque starter Randy Keisler (6-6) was dealt the loss after the left-hander surrendered eight runs, seven earned, on six hits over five innings, while walking three and fanning four.
The Rainiers (57-57) play the final game of their four-game series at the Isotopes at 6:05 p.m. on Saturday night. Left-hander Chris Seddon (7-5, 5.80) is scheduled to start for Tacoma against right-hander Francisco Felix (3-2, 5.96) for Albuquerque.
