Las Vegas Wins Ten Inning Thriller, 6-5

Las Vegas, Nev. - Ricardo Nanita finished a five-run eighth inning rally with a bases clearing double and scored the game winning run in the tenth inning on a Brian Jeroloman walk-off single as the Las Vegas 51s (57-57) took a 6-5 win over the Oklahoma City RedHawks (49-65) before 8,191 Friday night at Cashman Field.

Las Vegas reliever Daniel Farquhar (4-4) picked up the winning decision with a hitless tenth inning. RedHawks reliever Fernando Abad (1-3) allowed the game-winning run in the tenth inning for the losing decision. In his Oklahoma City debut, starter Henry Sosa dealt seven shutout innings with five hits, three walks and three strikeouts and stood in line for a winning decision until the late innings comeback for Las Vegas.

Oklahoma struck in the first inning against Las Vegas starter Robert Ray when Chris Johnson drove in a run on a two-out double off the right field wall, opening a 1-0 score.

The RedHawks added two runs in the third inning. Collin Delome reached third on a throwing error by the catcher and scored on an Anderson Hernandez double for a 2-0 advantage. With two out in the inning Drew Locke singed in Hernandez for a 3-0 lead.

Oklahoma City added an unconventional fourth run in the eighth inning. With runners on first and second and two out, moving on a 3-2 pitch, Tommy Manzella reached first on a strike three wild pitch. On the play, Drew Locke rounded third and scored for a 4-0 lead.

Las Vegas rallied against the bullpen starting in the eighth inning. Sammy Gervacio walked two and hit another to load the bases with one out. Douglas Arguello entered to face left-hander Adam Loewen and dealt a walk, forcing in a run for a 4-1 game. Juan Abreu next induced a pop out before dealing another bases loaded walk for a 4-2 score. Ricardo Nanita next hit a first-pitch double to right-centerfield, driving in three runs for a 5-4 score.

The RedHawks tied the score in the ninth inning. Anderson Hernandez led off with a walk, moved to second on a groundout, and scored on a two-out single from Robinson Cancel for a 5-5 game, forcing extra innings.

In the bottom of the tenth inning, Nanita doubled with one out and scored on a Brian Jeroloman single down the right field line for a 6-5 final.
