Cleburne Railroaders News Release
GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - Levi Scott went 2-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to a club-best 14 games, but a Cleburne rally fell short in a 5-4, walk-off loss to the Texas AirHogs at AirHogs Stadium on Tuesday night.
Cleburne trailed 4-2 entering the 9th before Trevor Sealey cut into the deficit with an RBI single and went first-to-third on Scott's second hit of the night. Sealey later scored on a wild pitch to the tie game at four.
Shawn Blackwell came on in the 9th, and after recording a quick out, the next three AirHogs reached - including Correlle Prime, who won the game with an RBI single to right.
Cleburne took an early lead on Patrick Palmeiro's RBI single in the 1st inning.
The Railroaders added to the lead when Angel Rosa clubbed his second homer as a Railroader and fourth this season - a solo shot to leadoff the 2nd.
Patrick Mincey gave up three runs on eight hits with two walks and six strikeouts, and the AirHogs halved the deficit with Luan Chenchen's RBI triple in the bottom of the 2nd inning.
Mincey retired the first two AirHogs in the 3rd, but then allowed the next five to reach with Chen Chen drawing a bases-loaded walk and Casio Grider following him up with a go-ahead RBI single.
Roman Gomez pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, but the AirHogs added an insurance run off of Cortland Cox in the 8th, when Na Chuang drove in his first run for Texas with an two-out RBI single.
Blake Grant-Parks made it hits in 16 of 17 with his two-hit effort, and a pair of Patrick Palmeiro singles gives him five in the first two games of the series. Quinn Irey recorded his first hit as a Railroader, and the former AirHog Sealey singled and scored in his return to AirHogs Stadium.
Game 3 of the three-game set is scheduled for 6:05 tomorrow, July 4th, at The Depot. Cleburne will throw RHP Dylan Mouzakes, and the first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free American Flag courtesy of Grandview Bank along with a free postgame fireworks show presented by the Cleburne Railroaders.
Tickets are available at www.railroaderbaseball.com or by calling (817) 945-8705.
