
RailRiders Even Series with 6-1 Win Over Durham

Durham, NC - Jeter Downs and Everson Pereira each hit two-run home runs to lift Scranton/Wilkes-Barre past Durham 6-1 on Wednesday night at the DBAP.
Downs' shot opened the scoring in the second inning against Durham starter Jacob Lopez (L, 2-2). Lopez worked 4 2/3 innings, fanning a season-high nine batters and allowing just those two runs. Pereira's home run capped a four-run seventh inning against Bulls reliever Colby White.
Dominic Smith connected for his second home run in a Bulls uniform, taking out winning pitcher Will Warren (W, 3-0) to lead off the fifth inning.
The Bulls (9-14) managed just three hits in the loss, while Durham's pitching staff struck out 17 RailRider batters.
The RailRiders (14-8) swiped five bases in the contest, including four in the seventh inning alone.
Durham's six-game homestand continues Wednesday night at 6:35 PM ET with Nathan Wiles (1-1, 7.50) slated to oppose Clayton Beeter (1-1, 3.65).
