RailCats Team-Up to Help the Needy with Food and Clothing Drive

GARY, Ind. - The Gary SouthShore RailCats are holding a food and clothing drive to benefit the Salvation Army and are providing an easy opportunity for fans to do their part by donating items at the July 4 and July 25 home games.

Fans attending games on these two nights are encouraged to bring canned foods and other non-perishable food items as well as new or gently used clothing items to U. S. Steel Yard. On Monday, July 4 and Monday, July 25, not only will participating fans have the ability to help out members of their community in need, but each fan dropping a food item or article of clothing in the Salvation Army bins will receive a reserved flex ticket voucher good for free admission to any future RailCats home game.

The Salvation Army Rehabilitation Center is located in Gary, Ind. at 1351 West 11th Avenue and for more information, the Salvation Army Rehabilitation Center can be reached by calling 219.882.9377.

The RailCats return to U. S. Steel Yard on Saturday, July 2 for Steel Night featuring a lunchbox giveaway for the first 1,000 kids entering the park courtesy of Geminus Corporation and The Post-Tribune.
