
RailCats Resign Quintero to Bolster Pen

KANSAS CITY, KS - The Gary South Shore RailCats have made the move of singing RHP AJ Quintero to bolster the bullpen and have placed LHP Dan Ludwig on irrevocable waivers.
AJ Quintero was released by the RailCats on July 10th and makes his third appearance on the South Shore Roster after a stint in 2014 with the club. This season, Quintero has a 5.72 ERA in 22 innings. The Vacaville, Calif., righty was placed on the disabled list back on June 12, and pitched with success after his activation on June 20, but surrendered seven runs on 11 hits in his last five innings before his release.
Ludwig, out of Belmont University and from Naperville, Ill., went (1-0) with a 4.35 ERA in 10.1 IP for the RailCats as a true rookie. He worked last night in relief for the RailCats surrendering four earned runs in 1.1 IP in the RailCats 10-5 win.
The RailCats will play game three of the four game series Tuesday night in Kansas City with RHP Travis McGee (1-0, 4,21) set to go for Gary while Kansas City will send out RHP Bobby Doran (8-1, 4.64). The first pitch is set for 7:05pm from CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City. The game can be heard on 95.9 WEFM and online at RailCatsBaseball.com.
The RailCats return home Thursday night to open a four game series with the Sioux City Explorers.
