ROANOKE RAIL YARD DAWGS
(20-20-4), T-7th SPHL, 44 Pts
MACON MAYHEM
(25-14-5), 4th SPHL, 55 Pts

Macon Coliseum - Macon, GA
Broadcast: SPHL Live | Mixlr
LAST TIME OUT: The Rail Yard Dawgs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead thanks to first period goals from Colin Murray and Phil Bronner but the Pensacola Ice Flyers scored five unanswered goals to come from behind and beat the Rail Yard Dawgs, 5-2, Saturday night at the Pensacola Bay Center.
ALMOST HOME: Friday's game is the sixth of seven in a row that Roanoke will play on the road. The Rail Yard Dawgs have not played at home since beating the Huntsville Havoc in a shootout, 2-1, on February 17. Roanoke will return home next week as its hosts Macon for a pair of games on March 15-16.
STREAK SNAPPED: Saturday's 5-2 loss in Pensacola snapped a ten-game point streak and was the first time the Rail Yard Dawgs had failed to record a point in over a month. It was Roanoke's first regulation loss since a 3-2 setback against Knoxville on February 2 in Roanoke.
GETTING HEALTHY: Two Rail Yard Dawgs came off of injured reserve this week and John Gustafsson and Brian Rowland were each activated. Gustafsson had missed the last seven games and in 35 games between the Dawgs and Macon Mayhem he has 13 goals and five assists. Rowland had been on IR since November 8 and has played in four games for Roanoke this year.
KNOW YOUR FOE: The Rail Yard Dawgs and Mayhem will become quite familiar with each other over the next two weeks-three of the teams' next four games will come against one another. The Dawgs have gone 2-2-0 against Macon thus far this season including a 1-2-0 mark at the Macon Coliseum.
STANDINGS WATCH: Roanoke enters the weekend in the eighth and final playoff spot. The Dawgs are two points behind the seventh-place Mississippi RiverKings, three points behind the sixth-place Evansville Thunderbolts and three points clear of the ninth-place Birmingham Bulls. Roanoke has a game in hand on Evansville, Mississippi and Birmingham.
POWERED DOWN: Roanoke has struggled on the power play as of late, going just 2-for-20 on the man advantage in their last five games. The Dawgs season-long 15.8% power play is the sixth-best in the league.
ON THE LEADERBOARD: Macon employs the SPHL's leader in points and goals in winger Jake Trask. Trask has 55 points and 24 goals on the season. Roanoke center Steve Mele is in fourth in the league with 49 points, six points behind Trask.
UP NEXT: Roanoke will continue its weekend on the road in Knoxville against the Ice Bears. Puck drop at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum is scheduled for 7:35 PM.
