Raiders To Compete Internationally

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan - Three roster players and one list player from the Prince Albert Raiders will be involved in International tournaments in December and January. Forward Igor Revenko will compete at the World Junior Championships in Poland, while defenceman Harrison Ruopp and forwards Mark McNeill and Brock Balson will take part in the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge in Timmins, Ontario.

Revenko, the Raiders leading scorer with 16 goals and 32 points, 10th overall in the WHL, will compete for Belarus at the Division IB World Junior Championships in Gdansk, Poland December 14 - 20. He will leave the Raiders on December 7th, and return in time for the first game after Christmas December 29th. Last year Revenko finished second in scoring at the World Junior Championships Division IA Championships in Switzerland with 11 points in 5 games. Belarus lost in their final game 2-1 to Switzerland, allowing the Swiss to advance to the Top Division for the 2010 World Junior Championships in Saskatoon.

Ruopp, who has appeared in 18 games with the Raiders this season, will be part of Team West for the World Under 17's in Timmins, Ontario, December 29 - January 4. Team West is comprised of players from Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

McNeill, who has 3 goals and 7 assists in 25 games for the Raiders and Balson, who is playing for the Chase Chiefs in the Kimberley International Junior B Hockey League, after appearing in 2 early season games with the Raiders, will suit up for Team Pacific at the World Under 17's. Team Pacific is made up of players from BC and Alberta.
