
Rafters Return to Madison Hunting for a Split

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters fell to Big Top Baseball rival and 2018 First Half South Division Champion the Madison Mallards 4-2 last night. This sinks the Rafters to 15-19 on the season. The Mallards move to 27-8 and are on a three game win streak.
Six Rafters recorded hits last night and Brody Wofford scored both runs. The lone RBI was credited to Bret Fehr who entered the game in the eighth inning.
Pitching tonight for the Rafters is Jake Cook (Birmingham Southern). Cook sports a 1-3 record. This will be his sixth start. In his 21 innings pitched, Cook has walked nine batters, allowed 35 hits and 16 strikeouts.
On the mound for the Mallards is Cole OConnor. The righty from Dartmouth sports a 4.21 ERA in 10.2 innings pitched. This will be OConnor's second start of the season for the Mallards. In his time on the bump, he has struck out seven batters and allowed 14 hits.
The first pitch is slated for 6:05p.m. at Warner Park. The Rafters will return home for the Independence Day Matchup against the Green Bay Bullfrogs at 3:05p.m.
