Rafters Return to Madison for Weekend Series

Madison, Wis- The Rafters topped the Loggers 7-6 Friday night at Copeland Park. Now the Rafters set their sights on the third place Madison Mallards in their final weekend series of June. The teams will play for the third time in five days and for the fifth tome this season. The Rafters, who are 14-15 so far this season, look to get back to .500 against a team fighting for the South division first half crown. The last time the Rafters were in Madison they were victorious 3-1.

Jack Riley (Uconn) will be on the mound for Wisconsin Rapids and Nate Hoffman (Middle Tennessee State) will be on the hill for Madison. Riley enters the game with a record of 1-0 and an ERA of 1.83, while Nate Hoffman has a record of 3-0 and a 2.37 ERA. Brock Carpenter (Seattle) and Mitchell McGeein (Eastern Michigan) both hit homeruns for the Rafters yesterday and they look to stay hot at the plate.

Wisconsin Rapids will be in Madison tomorrow for their final road game of June. The Rafters then return home for a day-night doubleheader against the Eau Claire Express to conclude the first half of the Northwoods League 2015 season.
