Rafters in La Crosse for Final Game Before All-Star Break

La Crosse, Wis- The Rafters look to complete a sweep of the Loggers as they play their final game before the All-Star break. Wisconsin Rapids (23-25, 8-8) saw their offense explode with 15 hits last night, including eight extra-base hits, en route to an 11-4 victory over the La Crosse Loggers (31-28, 12-8). La Crosse comes into today two games back in the 2nd half standings, while the Rafters come in at four games back.

Jake Johansmeier (Eastern Illinois) will take the ball for the Rafters today. The righty has had an outstanding 2015 campaign, going 5-1 with a 3.15 ERA. He started the summer in the bullpen, but since moving to the rotation has continued to deal for the Rafters. Brandon Lawson (South Florida) will be the starter for La Crosse. The sophomore is 3-1 with a 3.97 ERA. He will look to slow down the dynamic duo of Jake Sandlin (Southern Mississippi) and Ryan Cleveland (Georgia Southern). The Georgia born combo combined to have 6 hits (4 doubles and a home run), 6 runs scored, and 4 RBI's in yesterday's game.

The Rafters have one final game before the Northwoods League All-Star break as they head to Copeland Park in La Crosse, Wisconsin to finish this current two-game set with the Loggers. Witter Field will then play host to the 2015 Marshfield Clinic Northwoods League All-Star festivities, including a Home Run Challenge and All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 21.
