Rafters Fall in La Crosse 4-3

La Crosse, Wis- The Rafters lost a heart breaker at Copeland Park in their final game before the All-Star break, as Ronnie Gideon (Texas A&M) hit a walk-off home run to give the La Crosse Loggers a 4-3 win. Jordan Jess ( Minnesota) picked up his 3rd win of the summer, while Craig Pearcy (Morehead State) took his first loss as a Rafter. Wisconsin Rapids falls to 8-9 (23-26) with the loss, while the Loggers improve to 13-8 (32-23) with the win.

The Loggers got the scoring started in the bottom of the 2nd inning as they scored three of their four runs in the ball game that inning. All-Stars Mason McCoy (Iowa) and Ryan Zimmerman (Michigan State) each had RBI's in that inning for the Loggers. Wisconsin Rapids did their damage in the 3rd and 4th innings. Sam Tolleson (Central Florida) scored the first run of the game for the Rafters on an RBI single by Ernie Clement (Virginia). Brock Carpenter (Seattle) led off the 4th inning with a double for the Rafters and proceeded to score an RBI double by Ryan Cleveland (Georgia Southern). Cleveland was two for four at the plate with an RBI and a run scored on the day. Sam Tolleson's RBI double later in the 4th plated Cleveland to tie the game at 3. John Jaeger (Pacific), Joey Graziano (St. John's), and Ethan Evanko (Grand Canyon) held the Loggers scoreless for 6 innings before Gideon's walk-off home run.
