Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Milwaukee, WI - The Admirals are excited to welcome national recording artist Rachel Platten to perform after the team's game this Saturday night, February 20 against the Manitoba Moose, courtesy of Toyota, Lee Jeans, Potawatomi Hotel & Casino, and Coors Light. The Rachel Platten concert is free to attend with a game ticket.

The team still has a limited number of on-ice passes available for sale that allow fans exclusive access to watch the concert from directly in front of the stage. These passes are just $20 but must be purchased in addition to a game ticket.

Tickets for the game/concert double-header and on-ice passes can be purchased by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000 or by clicking here. Groups of ten or more can receive substantial discounts over single game prices. Those interested in booking a group should call the Ads office at (414) 227-0550.

Platten is best known for her smash hit "Fight Song," which was certified triple-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America and reached the number 6 spot on the Billboard Hot100 list. Her current hit "Stand By You" is at number 37 on the Hot100 and rising, while her album Wild Fire made it to number five on the Billboard charts.

After finishing college, Rachel immediately set out for New York City where she took up residence in the very apartment building on MacDougal Street in Greenwich Village where Bob Dylan once lived. Naturally, she found a band on Craigslist and started performing in clubs around the city. The next few years consisted of paying dues through a mix of temping during the day and getting fired a lot, gigging until 4am, and lugging an 80-pound keyboard to her fifth floor walk-up night after night. Despite the struggle and the setbacks, Rachel loved being on stage, even if at times nobody was listening.

After two years of writing, Rachel would find her first big spark with "Fight Song." She turned inward by telling her own story through it. Turns out it was just the message people needed. "The reactions were honest, and intense". One such story included an incredible woman named Christine, who adopted "Fight Song" as her battle cry against a cancer. After hearing how much "Fight Song" had inspired Christine, Rachel taught 150 of Christine's friends and family the song for an emotional surprise performance. Sadly, Christine would later succumb but her legacy of love, hope and courage stays with Rachel today.
