SAVANNAH, GA - A pair of Major Leaguers were not enough on Tuesday night at Historic Grayson Stadium, as Kannapolis fell to Savannah, 2-0.

Former AL Cy Young Award winner Bartolo Colon worked seven innings for the Intimidators, giving up a pair of sixth-inning runs. Colon (0-1) struck out eight and walked one, taking the loss in his second rehab start of the season. Colon is in the process of returning from a knee injury that has kept him out of the Big Leagues since June 9.

Savannah finally got to Colon in a scoreless game in the sixth, picking up back-to-back extra-base hits from Raul Reyes and Jefry Marte. Eric Campbell pushed across the second run with a two-out RBI single on a 0-2 pitch.

Savannah starter Kyle Allen (6-5) stole the show from the two-time All Star, giving up just three hits over a season-best 6 2/3 innings on the mound. Allen did not have much of an answer for the rehabbing Carlos Quentin, however, walking him twice in his three trips to the plate. He was replaced by Lee Fischer in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Allen did get Quentin to ground into a fielder's choice in his lone official at-bat. Quentin finished his rehab stint with Kannapolis 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Three Sand Gnat relievers combined to finish off the shutout. Rhiner Cruz picked up his 16th save of the season in his 16th try, as Kannapolis was shutout for the fifth time this season.
