Asheville Tourists News Release
(East Lake, OH) Juan Nicasio picked up where Parker Frazier left off on Tuesday in a 4-0 win over the Lake County Captains. Nicasio (4-1) struck out eight and allowed just four hits in the Tourists second shutout in as many days. Scott Robinson had four hits and Jordan Pacheco smacked his 11th homerun on the season in the win.
Asheville jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a Kiel Roling single in the first inning. Roling drove in Scott Robinson with two out in the first inning. Pacheco pushed the lead to 2-0 with his homerun on the third inning and the Tourists added two more runs in the fifth to end the night for Lake County starter Trey Haley.
The story of the night was Juan Nicasio picking up his fourth win of the year. Nicasio finished with no walks and eight strikeouts, allowing just the four hits. For most of the season Asheville was stuck with the worst ERA in the league. The staff has now tossed 22 consecutive scoreless innings including consecutive shutouts of the Lake County Captains.
Asheville has won eight of their last nine and will try for four consecutive wins at 7:05 on Wednesday. All the action can be heard online or on WRES 100.7 FM.
