October 1, 2004 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Providence Bruins News Release

The Providence Bruins announced today that they have signed right wings Carl Corazzini and Pat Leahy to American Hockey League contracts for the upcoming 2004-05 season. Both players will be on the ice with the team for practice on Saturday. The practice will be held at the Rhode Island Sports Center on Rte. 146 in North Smithfield from 1:40 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The practice is open to the public. In addition to Corazzini and Leahy, Patrice Bergeron and Andy Hilbert will also be practicing with the team.

"Carl and Pat have been with us for three and two years, respectively, and have grown as professionals during their time here," said Bruins head coach Scott Gordon. "They know our system and have been key players for us in the past. In addition, Carl and Pat each made his NHL debut last season with Boston, so they are good examples of how hard work can be rewarded here in Providence."

Corazzini, a 25-year-old native of Framingham, Massachusetts, had 16-9-25 totals in 62 games with Providence last season. The offensive numbers marked new career-highs for him, and his four shorthanded goals led the team and tied for the AHL lead. Corazzini, now entering his fourth professional season out of Boston University, made his NHL debut last season with Boston on January 15 in Buffalo. He scored his first two NHL goals on January 20 against the New York Rangers. Corazini finished with two goals in 12 games with Boston. He was originally signed as a free agent by Boston on August 8, 2001.

Leahy, a 25-year-old native of Duxbury, Massachusetts, tallied 14-16-30 totals in 55 games with Providence last season. He made his NHL debut with Boston at the FleetCenter against the Philadelphia Flyers on December 6, and played in six scoreless games with the big club. Leahy is entering his fourth professional season out of Miami (Ohio) University, his third in the Bruins' organization. Leahy has 34-39-73 totals in 121 career games with Providence.

The Bruins also announced today that they have released defensemen Anthony D'Arpino and Eric Nelson from training camp. In addition, forwards Willie Levesque, Brian Collins and Justin Laverdiere have also been released from the training camp roster.

The Bruins are pleased to offer two current ticket specials. With every book of 10 FlexTix purchased, 2 FREE tickets for Opening Night will be added to the package. Fans can also purchase the Bruins' 3-Game Plan. There are four different 3-Game Plans to choose from, each offering three exciting games for just $24.

The Bruins open up the 2004-05 regular season, their 13th in the AHL, on Friday, October 15, when they host the Springfield Falcons at 7:05 p.m.
