
Griffins to host open house for fans on Saturday

WHAT: Grand Rapids Griffins' "Training Camp Open House"
WHERE: Griff's IceHouse at Belknap Park â 30 Coldbrook NE
WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 2 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
In celebration of the start of the American Hockey League season, the Griffins will host a special "Training Camp Open House" for fans at the newer rink at Griff's IceHouse. The event is free and open to the public.
Fans will enjoy free hot dogs, soft drinks and snacks, and will have the opportunity to meet the 2004-05 Griffins players.
Half of the Griffins' squad will practice from 10:30 a.m. to noon and meet with fans from 12:30-1 p.m., while the other group will greet fans from 11-11:30 a.m. before hitting the ice from 12:15-1:45 p.m.
Griffins GM Bob McNamara and Red Wings goaltending coach Jim Bedard will also be available to answer fans' questions from noon until 12:30 p.m.
