Prince Albert Raiders News Release

Edmonton, AB - Reid Gardiner and Jordan Tkatch recorded three-point games as the Prince Albert Raiders beat the Edmonton Oil Kings 3-1 on Wednesday night at Rexall Place.

In their first game since the WHL Trade Deadline passed, the newly formed top line for the Raiders proved potent. Replacing Matteo Gennaro, Tkatch centred Gardiner and Simon Stransky as the trio scored all three of the team's goals.

The three-point efforts by Gardiner (1g-2a) and Tkatch (1g-2a) were supported by Stransky (1g-1a) who had a pair of points.

Colton Kehler scored the only goal of the night for the Oil Kings during the third period.

Rylan Parenteau had a big night in the Prince Albert net, especially in the opening frame when the Raiders were outshot 12-4. He finished the night with 31 saves on 32 attempts.

Edmonton's goal was tended by Payton Lee, who turned away 16 of 19 shots.

The Oil Kings outshot the Raiders 32-19. Prince Albert went 1-for-2 on the power play, while Edmonton was 0-for-4.

The Raiders improve their record to 25-14-3-1 on the season and move within two points of the East Division leading Brandon Wheat Kings. The Oil Kings fall to 17-21-5-0.
