AUGUSTA, GA – The Pee Dee Pride (8-4-2) overcame a two-goal third period deficit Wednesday night, and defeated the Augusta Lynx (4-7-2) 3-2 in a shootout.

Augusta capitalized on a power-play opportunity for the game's first goal at 10:21 of the first period. The Lynx moved the puck around the Pride end, and it settled on the stick of Sean Connoly at the hash marks. His quick shot eluded Pride goaltender Nick Boucher for his third goal of the season.

The Lynx added to their lead exactly eight minutes later, this time just 10 seconds after a power play expired. The Pride could not clear the zone, and Jamie Johnson ended up beating Boucher with a quick snap shot from the top of the left-wing circle to make it 2-0 Augusta through one period.

It remained 2-0 until early in the third period. Just 1:28 into the final period, Kevin Cooper found the puck on his stick on the near post and he stuffed it into the net for his third goal of the season.

Pee Dee tied the game at 10:13 of the final period, taking advantage of a fortunate bounce. The puck took a weird bounce off of the end boards and came back out in front and Brian Collins was able to push it across the line for his team-leading eighth goal of the season.

After a scoreless overtime, the game went to the shootout.

In the shootout, it took nine shooters, but the Pride came out on top. Boucher was huge in the shootout, stopping each of the final six Lynx shooters, and Kyle Kidney came up with the clinching goal in round nine.

The Pride return home for two games this weekend. Friday, they host the South Carolina Stingrays for the first time this season at 7:30. All fans are encouraged to bring a new toy to the game to donate to the Toys for Tots campaign.

Saturday, the Charlotte Checkers are in town, also at 7:30, on Camo Night, presented by Buffy's Sportsman's Paradise. Pride players will wear special camo jerseys, which will be auctioned off following the game at a live auction.

Plus, all fans are encouraged to come to the game dressed in their best camo outfit. The fan who wears the best outfit will win a $50 gift certificate to Buffy's.

Tickets for all Pride home games are available at the Florence Civic Center Box Office, or through TicketMaster at (843) 679-9333 or _www.ticketmaster.com_ (http://www.ticketmaster.com/) .
