Kearney, NE. - The Tri-City Storm host Sioux Falls for "Military Appreciation Night" tonight at the Viaero Center following a 1-0 road shutout of instate rival Omaha last night in the first game of a three game weekend. The Storm improved to 9-3-1-0 on the season in the win, and enter tonight's game with a record 3-1-1-0 on home ice. Tri-City (9-3-1-0) matches up against Sioux Falls tonight for the first time in the 2018-2019 regular season. The Storm and the Stampede met once during the preseason, with Tri-City skating away with a 6-2 win. In last night's shutout of rival Omaha, Cole McWard notched his 1st career USHL goal and his 1st career game winning goal. Isaiah Saville stopped all 26 Lancers shots to register his league leading 2nd shutout of the season. Jake Crespi continues to lead Tri-City in goals scored with 4 on the season. Zac Jones is the Storm's leader in assists (7) and points (8) through the team's first 13 games of the year.
Sioux Falls (6-4-1-1) visits the Viaero Center for the first time tonight in the first game of a four game season series against the Storm. The Stampede captured the season series last year three games to one. Artem Ivanyuzhenkov and Andre Lee lead the team with 5 goals scored on the year. Sioux Falls dropped a road game last night to the Lincoln Stars by a final score of 2-1 and conclude weekend play tonight against Tri-City. The Storm will play one additional game on the weekend tomorrow afternoon in Lincoln.
Tri-City returns home tomorrow night for its annual "Military Appreciation Night" game. The first 1,000 fans will receive a free car flag and the Storm will play tonight's game in specialty jerseys and specialty helmets. Tonight's game is set to begin at 7:05pm CT, and will be streamed live on HockeyTV, and Storm Radio.
