Ralston, NE- The Tri-City Storm shutout rival Omaha on the road Friday night at Ralston Arena in the first game of a three game weekend. Cole McWard scored his 1st career goal, and Isaiah Saville recorded his 2nd career shutout in the win. Tri-City returns home tomorrow night to host Military Appreciation Night in a matchup with Sioux Falls.
Cole McWard broke a scoreless tie at the 14:54 mark of the 2nd period on a goal assisted by Benji Eckerle. The goal was the 1st career goal for McWard and the only goal scored in the game. Isaiah Saville stopped all 26 shots to record his 2nd career shutout. Tri-City improved to 9-3-1-0 in the win, and will face Sioux Falls for the first time this season tomorrow night at the Viaero Center. In the win, Tri-City took a three games to two lead in the season series with Omaha. Tri-City picked up two points in the USHL standings, and held on the 4th place spot in the Western Conference.
Doors open for Military Appreciation Night sponsored by Riddles Jewelry at 6:05pm tomorrow ahead of a 7:05pm puck drop. The first 1,000 fans at tomorrow's game will receive a free car flag courtesy of Coca-Cola. The Storm will wear both specialty jerseys and specialty helmets during the game, and the game worn specialty helmets will be auctioned off at the conclusion of the game on the Viaero Center concourse.
