Matchup Notes

Tonight marks the fifth of 10 meetings this season between the Oil Kings and Rebels.

After the two teams split their opening weekend home-and-home series, the Rebels have gone on to win the last two meetings at Rogers Place and have now won 12 of their 13 games against the Oil Kings.

Coming In

The Oil Kings come in after picking up a 6-5 win over the Tri-City Americans on Thursday night at Rogers Place in their first game back at home following a seven-game road trip. The Oil Kings are now 6-2-1-0 in their last nine games.

Gavin Hodnett scored a pair of power play goals in the win, while Gracyn Sawchyn tallied three assists. Cole Miller, Ty Nash, Roan Woodward and Marshall Finnie added the other four goals for Edmonton in the back-and-forth affair, while Kolby Hay made 33 saves for his 13th win of the season.

The Oil Kings power play went 3-for-4 in the game marking the second time this season the PP unit has counted for three goals in a single game.

The Rebels come in riding a 6-game point streak (4-0-1-1) and three game win streak after a 3-1 win over the Tri-City Americans last night at the Centrium. Over their last 11 games, the Rebels have only lost once in regulation going 8-1-1-1 in that span.
