PRAIRE ROYALTY: Defenceman Tanner Molendyk scored in his return to the lineup while forward Brandon Lisowsky's snipe in overtime helped the Saskatoon Blades beat the Victoria Royals 5-4 at SaskTel Centre on Saturday.

Lisowsky's heroics mark goal 22 on the campaign for the Toronto Maple Leafs draft pick, who has 47 points in 40 games.

A Nashville Predators prospect, Molendyk had been out of the lineup since Dec. 8th due to an injury as well as time spent in Gothenburg Sweden with Team Canada at the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship. Molendyk's presence on the back end is crucial for a deep team and ready for a playoff push.

Sophomore netminder Austin Elliott did his job well between the pipes on Goalie Night stopping 14 shots for his 18th win of the season. The Strathmore, AB native is six wins away from 50 in his WHL career.

Home ice continued to be a major advantage for the Blue and Gold who are now 15-1-1-0 inside SaskTel Centre. The Blades are 28-8-2-2 and remain first in the Eastern Conference.

NEXT GAME: The Blades hit the ice again tomorrow at 4:00pm for Kids Takeover presented by SaskTel against the Regina Pats.

There will be a team autograph session replacing the post-game skate.
