Predators Sign Peverley to NHL Contract

Milwaukee,WI-Nashville Predators Executive Vice President/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has signed forward Rich Peverley to a two-year contract. The deal will pay Peverley $450,000 (2006-07) and $460,000 (2007-08) at the NHL level and $60,000 (2006-07) and $75,000 (2007-08) at the American Hockey League level.

Peverley leads the Milwaukee Admirals in goals (17), assists (28), points (45) and plus/minus rating (+12) in 41 games this season. The 6-0, 185-pound center posted 46 points (12g-34a) in 65 regular-season games with the Admirals last season and had 11 points (2g-9a-11pts) in 21 playoff contests.

Peverley registered 73 points (34g-39a) in 80 games with South Carolina and Reading of the ECHL from 2004-06. The Guelph, Ont. native racked up 117 points (44g-73a) in 138 games during a four-year college career at St. Lawrence University from 2000-04.

The Admirals's will play a pair of home games this weekend, starting on Friday at 7:00 pm at the Bradley Center versus the Rochester Americans, followed by a 7:30 pm tilt with the Toronto Marlies on Saturday.
