Wolf Pack Players Serve as Waiters at Fourth Annual "Tip-A-Player" Fundraiser February 19

Hartford, January 17, 2007: The Hartford Wolf Pack Community Foundation will dish up the 4th Annual "Tip-a-Player" Dinner and Sports Carnival on Monday, February 19th at the Hartford Civic Center. This year's event has been expanded to feature two dinner seatings - one at 5:00 p.m. and one at 7:00 p.m. - to accommodate the popularity of the annual fundraiser, which benefits Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford, CT. The event, which includes a Sports Carnival in the Exhibition Hall, is open to all attendees from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m.
The "Tip-A-Player" Dinner features Wolf Pack players serving dinner to guests "on the floor over the ice" at the Civic Center and competing for tips called "puck bucks" to raise funds for Gaylord. The delicious food is provided by area restaurants, with special help and coordination from Billy Grant of Grants Restaurant and Bar and Restaurant Bricco in West Hartford as well as the staff of the Civic Center's Coliseum Club. The Dinner also features a silent auction and much more. In addition, the Sports Carnival, which is situated in the Civic Center's Exhibition Hall, features games, inflatables, Olympia and player pictures, player autographs, a tour of the Wolf Pack locker room, sports competitions and much more.
Last year's event raised a record-breaking $59,000, increasing the three-year take to $109,000 to benefit Gaylord Hospital. Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford, CT is a 103 year old long term acute care hospital specializing in rehabilitation and medically complex patient care. The funds raised at this year's "Tip-A-Player" event will be used to purchase new equipment for therapies for both in-patient and out-patients to help them regain their independence.
The presenting sponsors for this year's "Tip-A-Player" event are Aetna and SunTrust Mortgage.
