HARTIGAN'S STREAK HITS NINE: Left wing Mark Hartigan extended his point streak to nine games with an assist Monday afternoon against Binghamton. During the streak, Hartigan has tallied 12 points (6g, 6a), including registering three multiple point games. Through 30 games with the team this season, Hartigan has tallied 15 goals, 13 assists and 49 penalty minutes.
NOVAK SHOWS ALL-STAR FORM: Defenseman Filip Novak has hit his stride, registering 10 points (2g, 8a) in his last 10 games, after tallying 13 points (1g, 12a) in his first 25 games with Syracuse this season. Novak will represent the Crunch at the AHL All-Star Classic as a member of the PlanetUSA Team.
COLUMBUS REASSIGNS PICARD AND PLATT TO SYRACUSE: The Syracuse Crunch announced that the Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned left wing Alexandre Picard and center Geoff Platt to Syracuse.
Picard, 21, has appeared in nine games with the Blue Jackets this season and has collected 14 penalty minutes in 26 career NHL games with the club. In 28 games with Syracuse, he has 7 goals, 6 assists and 32 penalty minutes. Columbus's top pick in the 2004 Entry Draft, he has registered 22 goals, 21 assists and 84 penalty minutes in 73 career AHL games.
Platt, 21, has collected two penalty minutes in six games with the Blue Jackets this season and has totaled 5 assists and 18 penalty minutes in 21 career NHL games with Columbus. He currently leads Syracuse in goals and power play goals (eight), while ranking second in points having tallied 16 goals, 13 assists with 41 penalty minutes in 33 games. In 2005-06, he ranked third on the Crunch in scoring with 30 goals, 35 assists and 58 penalty minutes in 68 games as a rookie.

WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON (PITTSBURGH PENGUINS): Syracuse travels to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Wednesday, January 17 for the fifth of eighth regular season meetings. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton leads the series 3-1, after defeating Syracuse 3-2 in a shootout on December 29 at the War Memorial at Oncenter. Center Rob Schremp leads all active players in head-to-head scoring with four points (1g, 3a). Center Geoff Platt leads all active Crunch players with three points (1g, 2a) in head-to-head scoring. Tomas Popperle has appeared in three games for Syracuse, posting a 1-1-1 record, a 3.00 goals against average and .926 save percentage. Former Crunch goaltender Andrew Penner has appeared in net three times for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, posting a 2-1-0 record, a 2.60 goals against average and .902 save percentage. Lifetime, the Crunch are 34-24-8 against the Penguins.
ALBANY RIVER RATS (CAROLINA HURRICANES/COLORADA AVALANCHE): On Friday, January 19, the Albany River Rats visit the War Memorial at Oncenter for the third of eight regular season meetings. The series is tied 1-1-0, after Albany defeated Syracuse 5-4 in a shootout on December 23 in Syracuse. Several Crunch players are tied with three points each, while defenseman Johnny Boychuk leads all River Rats players with three points each (3g). Tomas Popperle appeared in one game with Syracuse, recording 21 saves in the win. Tyler Weiman has appeared in both games for Albany, posting a 1-1-0 record, a 3.45 goals against average and a .899 save percentage. Lifetime, the Crunch are 43-37-9 against the River Rats.
BINGHAMTON (OTTAWA SENATORS): Syracuse hosts Binghamton on Saturday, January 20 for the sixth of eight regular season meetings. Binghamton leads the series 3-1-1, despite losing to Syracuse 4-3 in a shootout on January 15 in Syracuse. Center Josh Hennessy (4g, 2a) leads all players in head-to-head scoring with six points. Defenseman Derrick Walser leads all Crunch players with five points (2g, 3a) in head-to-head scoring. Tomas Popperle has appeared in two games with Syracuse, posting a 2-0-0 record, a 4.02 goals against average and a .892 save percentage. Goaltenders Kelly Guard (2-2-0 record, 1.50 goals against average and .952 save percentage) and Jeff Glass (1-1-1 record, 3.25 goals against average and .907 save percentage) have split time in net for Binghamton. Lifetime, the Crunch are 14-20-3 against the Senators.

WWE Raw Superstar Torrie Wilson To Appear At Crunch Game On January 19: The Syracuse Crunch announced that WWE RAW Superstar Torrie Wilson will be on hand at the Crunch's January 19 game vs. Albany.
Torrie will be available during the first intermission in Memorial Hall to sign autographs.
Discovered by wrestler Kevin Nash during his days with World Championship Wrestling (WCW), she began her career in small roles as a valet for some of the league's contenders, accompanying them to the ring. When World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) bought out WCW, Wilson made her debut as one of the WWE's "Divas." Aside from escorting wrestlers, she also occasionally steps into the ring with other Divas. She's appeared in bouts with the likes of Sable, Stacy Keibler and Trish Stratus.
Since becoming an integral part of the WWE, Wilson has posed for Playboy magazine twice, the second time with fellow diva Sable; and has been featured in recurring pictorials for the WWE's very own Divas Magazine.
Crunch Announce Details of January 19 Turning Stone Fan Appreciation Night: The Syracuse Crunch announced that the Friday, January 19 against the Albany River Rats will be Turning Stone Fan Appreciation Night at the Crunch.
All fans, over the age of 18, can bring their ticket stub from the Crunch's home game on Friday, January 19 to the Diamond Card Registration desk for a choice of a $10 Meal Voucher, $10 Free Play Card, $10 Match Play Coupon or a Level 1 Bingo Coupon. Fans can redeem their January 19 ticket stub for up to five days after the game.

Crunch Announce Details of Advance Auto Parts Fantasy Camp -- Essay Contest to Determine Participating Youth Hockey Teams: The Syracuse Crunch announced the details of the Advance Auto Parts Fantasy Camp that will be held on January 21 from 1-3:30 p.m.
Advance Auto Parts will be giving two (2) local hockey teams the opportunity to join their organization on January 21 from 1-3:30 p.m. for the Advance Auto Parts Fantasy Camp with the Syracuse Crunch.
The camp will feature appearances by Syracuse Crunch players to coach the Advance Auto Parts players, in addition to participating in a hockey skills competition. The players will be on hand to participate in the different events and sign autographs from 1-3 p.m. Each participant in the camp receives a special practice jersey. Advance Auto Parts will hold a pizza party for all participants following the event from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Interested youth hockey teams can enter to win a chance to participate in the Advance Auto Parts Fantasy Camp by submitting a 200 word essay on why their team should be selected to participate in the Advance Auto Parts Fantasy Camp. Essays must include a contact name, address and phone number. Deadline to enter is January 17. Winners will be contacted via telephone or email. Essays can be entered through email at info@syracusecrunch.com or at the Crunch's office.
The following events will take place during the camp:
Fastest Shot - Each attending Crunch player will have his slap shot measured by radar, followed by any guest player who is interested in trying. The players will be given pointers during the guest portion of this event.
Puck Relay - The Crunch players will be split into teams and compete in a puck relay race. Following the players, teams of Advance Auto Parts guest players will compete.
Rapid Fire - Advance Auto Parts guests and Crunch players will be split into teams of two. Each team will have 30 seconds to fire ten pucks on a Crunch goaltender. The team to score the most goals wins.
Break-Away - The Crunch players and Advance Auto Parts guest players will compete in a single elimination, penalty shot event on the Crunch goaltender.

Celebrity Bartending Series Continues at JP's Tavern on January 22: The Syracuse Crunch, along with Labatt's, announced that the Labatt's Celebrity Bartending series will continue on Monday, January 22 at JP's Tavern.
Crunch players Philippe Dupuis, Jekabs Redlihs and Darcy Verot will serve as celebrity bartenders at JP's Tavern from 5 - 7 p.m. on Monday, January 22. JP's Tavern is located on 109 Syracuse St. in Baldwinsville. Call 638-7177 for directions.
All tips generated by the players that night will be donated to Breast Cancer Research.
Crunch Players to Sign Autographs at Tully's Good Times, January 22: The Syracuse Crunch announced that Crunch players Andrew Murray and Ben Simon will be at Tully's Good Times on Erie Blvd. on January 22 from 6-7 p.m. to sign autographs.
Murray and Simon will be available on Monday, January 22 from 6 -7 p.m. at the Tully's Good Times located on Erie Blvd. to sign the teams' special edition oversized hockey cards, compliments of Tully's Good Times.
