CHARLESTON, WV - Francisco Diaz, a former Phillies farmhand, delivered an RBI single to cap a two-run ninth inning as West Virginia came from behind to top the BlueClaws 3-2 on Sunday afternoon at Appalachian Power Park.

The Power had tied the game on a lead-off home run in the ninth inning by Michael Suchy off Matt Hockenberry before the next two batters reached and Diaz's one-out single won the game. West Virginia took three of four from the BlueClaws in the series and lowered their magic number to six.

The BlueClaws (30-26/63-61) dropped the last three games to West Virginia (39-17/76-49) after winning the first game on Thursday.

Jose Regalado (5-5), who threw two scoreless innings, earned the win while Hockenberry (4-4) took the loss for Lakewood.

The BlueClaws got on the board in the third inning, taking the lead on a one-out RBI single by Damek Tomscha. Tomscha's single moved Drew Stankiewicz to third base, and he scored on a safety squeeze from Cord Sandberg that put the BlueClaws up 2-0.

West Virginia scored their first run in the bottom of the inning when Connor Joe grounded into a 6-4-3 double play with runners on first and third.

Power starter Colten Brewer came out after 5.2 innings, allowing two runs on four hits. Jake Burnette got the next four outs.

BlueClaws starter Ranfi Casimiro gave up one run over six innings of work before giving way to Joey DeNato in the seventh. DeNato threw two scoreless innings and has allowed just one earned run in his last 28.1 innings of work.

After an off-day on Monday, the BlueClaws return home on Tuesday to open a four-game series with Hagerstown. LHP Austin Davis (3-5) starts for Lakewood against RHP Justin Amlung (3-2).
