(Charleston, WV- June 11, 2014) - The West Virginia Power dropped their franchise-high 11th straight ballgame, 7-2 to the Greensboro Grasshoppers on Wednesday night at Appalachian Power Park. Greensboro took the early 3-run advantage and never looked back to earn the sweep.

The Grasshoppers got started in the second when J.T. Riddle single home two runs. Then, in the third inning, Greensboro tacked on another behind a Chad Wallach sacrifice fly and added one more in the fifth on an Avery Romero solo blast.

West Virginia would get on the board in the bottom of the fifth when Candon Myles came home on a throwing error by Jarlin Garcia. The Power cut the lead to just two in the seventh with an RBI groundout off the bat of Justin Maffei, scoring Wyatt Mathisen.

Power starter Buddy Borden (2-5) was charged with the loss while Greensboro hurler Jarlin Garcia (6-2) earned the win.

West Virginia will take on the Delmarva Shorebirds on Thursday, June 12, at Appalachian Power Park. Power starter Cody Dickson will take the hill against the Shorebirds Luis Gonzalez. For tickets or more information, call 304-344-2287 or visit www.wvpower.com.
