YOUNGSTOWN, OH- The Lincoln Stars scored a last minute power play goal to force overtime, and another special teams tally to down the Phantoms 2-1 Saturday night in Nebraska.

"I'm not disappointed with the outcome of our weekend, I'm disappointed for our guys who deserved a win tonight," said Phantoms Head Coach John Wroblewski.

The Phantoms got on the board first, when Matt Miller found the rebound following a Yushiro Hirano slap shot. It was Miller's first goal of the season.

Youngstown kept the league leading Stars off the board for over 59 minutes, until Ethen Frank squeaked a rebound past Phantoms goalie Ryan Bednard with just 29 seconds left in regulation. Frank's goal came on the power play with a 6 on 4 advantage after Lincoln had pulled goaltender Patrik Virtanen.

Both teams had some chances early on in overtime, but the Stars caught a break when Luke McInnis was called for tripping. On the ensuing power play, Ludvig Hoff snuck a one-timer past Bednard to win the game for Lincoln.

"You want that win for the guys, especially Bednard, he was outstanding. I thought that every guy gave everything they had tonight for us," Wroblewski said.

The Phantoms will return to Youngstown for a five game home stand beginning Wednesday night against the Muskegon Lumberjacks. It's Phantoms Phight Hunger Night presented by VEC Incorporated. Any fan who brings 10 or more non-perishable food items will be entered into a raffle to win a pair of boxing gloves signed by the Phantoms.
