POWER REPLAY: West Virginia lost 14-5 on Tuesday to the Savannah Sand Gnats. The Power took a 1-0 lead in the first on a sac fly, but the Sand Gnats scored then next 12, including a five run fourth inning with home runs from TJ Rivera and Dustin Lawley. West Virginia plated a run in the fifth before Savannah added two in the eighth. The Power scored three runs in the ninth to close out the scoring. Ryan HAfner took the loss in his SAL debut.

AT A LOSS: West Virginia has dropped seven straight games since sweeping Greenville during the opening homestand. A loss this afternoon will surpass the longest losing streaks during the first three plus seasons as a Pirates affiliate. The longest losing streak during 2011 was seven games, the longest of 2010 was six (three times), and the longest stretch without a win in 2009 was also seven games.

14 STRAIGHT: Alen Hanson's hitting streak has reached 14 games afte a two-hit Tuesday. The infielder is batting .443 during his streak and already has surpassed the longest hitting streak by any player during the 2011 season (Dan Grovatt and Mel Rojas Jr.- 10 games each). Only one player has a longer hitting streak in the league this year. Kannapolis's Rangel Ravero is currently at 15 games and still active. Hanson has reached safely by base hit in 16 of his 18 games played this season.

MEET THE METS: West Virginia will play the Savannah Sand Gnats until Friday in the the only series this season between the clubs. The Power lead the all-time series 18-13 and hold a 10-6 record at Appalachian Power Park against the SAL affiliate of the New York Mets. West Virginia and Savannah were scheduled to play seven times last season, but only managed to get six in due to a rainout on the second day of the season.

HOME RUN DROUGHT: West Virginia's offense has not hit a home run since April 15, a stretch that spans the entire seven game losing streak. The Power hit 11 home runs over the first 11 games of the season. West Virginia has a 4-3 record in games when they hit a home run and a 1-10 record in games without.

ROAD WOES: Sunday's loss was the Power's ninth straight on the road, having not won since April 6 at Hagerstown. West Virginia is 1-10 on the road so far this season and holds a staff ERA of 6.00 despite batting at a .281 clip during those 11 games. The Power have lost eight of the ten games by three runs or less including four by one run.

REINSTATED: Jordan Cooper was added back to the active roster on Tuesday after serving his league-mandated three game suspension for beaning Asheville's Will Swanner last Monday.

PROMO UPDATE- APRIL 27: The Power will host a Charlies Reunion Night on April 27 at Appalachian Power Park. Former Charleston Charlies like Kent Tekulve, Steve Blass, and Dave Parker will be in attendance for the game and will sign autographs. A VIP experience is also being offered with an hour long meet and greet plus question and answer session.

POWER POINTS: To make room on the active roster for Ryan Hafner on Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Pirates transferred right-hander Stetson Allie to the State College Spikes roster...

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh rallied to beat Colorado 5-4 with a two-run bottom of the eighth... Indianapolis beat Louisville 5-3... Altoona opened a three game series with a 5-1 win over Harrisburg... Bradenton held a 1-0 lead but allowed Jupiter to score the final seven runs in Tuesday night loss.
