Augusta GreenJackets News Release

Augusta, GA - A thirst that has gone unquenched for 238 days will disappear on Thursday night in Augusta. The Augusta GreenJackets will host their first Thirsty Thursday of the 2012 season, presented by The Library, during their 7:05 p.m. game against the Kannapolis Intimidators. Gates open at 6 p.m.

Just as in previous years, fans can enjoy dollar draft beers and soft drinks from the time gates open until the end of the seventh inning.

In the 238 days since the last Thirsty Thursday, Eli Manning won his second Super Bowl, his brother Peyton switched teams, an American lottery featured a jackpot of over half a billion dollars and a man named Bubba roared into town and claimed one of golf's most prestigious prizes. Certainly, the fans in Augusta have some catching up to do.

"Thirsty Thursday is Augusta's largest outdoor party and a great chance for the people of the area to come out to the ballpark, see friends, connect with others and enjoy baseball and great drink specials." said GreenJackets General Manager Bob Flannery. "It is, in my opinion, the biggest weeknight date on Augusta's social calendar every time we host a Thirsty Thursday."

All told, the GreenJackets will host eight Thirsty Thursdays during the 2012 season. The GreenJackets continue a seven-game homestand tonight on a Bi-Lo Baseball Bingo Wednesday. First pitch for tonight's game against the Kannapolis Intimidators comes at 7:05 p.m. with ballpark gates opening at 6 p.m.

Single-game tickets for any GreenJackets home game are currently available by calling the GreenJackets front office at 706-922-WINS and online at www.greenjacketsbaseball.com.
